Yep, a few more Cakes have joined the family :) First was Lilo, my 2nd Angel Cake (on the right). She and Lola are twins - they have twin dresses.
Then a couple of days ago Sapphire (Blueberry Muffin), Ruby (Strawberry Shortcake) and Rose Quartz (Raspberry Tart) arrived. They are still naked :D Must make them some clothes! I now have 5 Blythes, 5 Vintage SSCs and 1 Dal :) There are a few Blythes which have been announced in the past few days/weeks which I'd like - and 4 or 5 Dals too. But my dolly family is pretty much complete. He he - famous last words!
And finally - Cakes in a Cake Stand! :D Popped them in here as I was using the box they were on for photos of Hana, and then noticed what I'd done, so had to take a photo :)

Meet Lola

My first Strawberry Shortcake doll for about 20 years :D She even smells just how I remembered. She is an Angel Cake, and she named her skunk Rose. I named her Lola as she reminds me of Lola from Charlie and Lola - one of my favourite childrens book and TV series.

Hana's new BA dress arrived today - she loves it!

On Thursday Kiki and I went on our first advernture together on the Hills. We got rather lost and wlked for about 6 or 7 miles, but got some lovely photos.

Our ButtonArcade dress came today - it was a commission, so I got exactly what I wanted :D We love it! Deer, owls and apples - what's not to love!? And Hana adores the ickle rubber chicken from Kyle :)
I made this beret with a pattern from Mel linked me to - but knitting isn't really my forte and even though it took me all day yesterday (which is why the lighting is so bad, as I didn't finish it til about 8pm), it came out more like something Bob Marley would have worn....
On Saturday we (that's me, Kiki, Hana and Satori) went to a meet in Birmingham - we saw lots of lovely ladies, and a lot of gorgeous dolls. I was bowled over by Fliss's PAM - Kiki was jealous :D There were a couple of other Punkys there - and everyone was right - Kiki does have exceptional hair. I somehow got very lucky there.
My DB and Angela's custom re-root DB - can't believe how different they look. I'm thinking of at some point in the future getting a 2nd DB to do a full custom on.
OK not a Blythe - an Ixtee Mui-Chan belonging to Jo. She is adorable!

Still under house arrest (i.e. ill), and had Alex home today too, so tried my hand at sewing for the girls again. My first attempt at a dress didn't exactly work out, and I had to unpick and restitch it twice!
But then I had a go at making a ribbon tied top - and it turned out pretty well! I made a little felt and button heart embellishment for the front too. Love how it matches Hana's glasses.

I think the trick is to keep practising. I'll get there eventually.

L-R: Hana, Mei, Sakura, Satori, Satsuki and Kiki. I love them all so much :) At the moment I'm feeling pretty content - I'd like a Drta Dal, and maybe a Melize or Lizbel, but for the time being, there's no overwhelming need.

Got back from my first day at college (although I don't have to go back now for a month :D ), to the most wonderful surprise package from my bestest Blythe friend, Abby. I met Abby on TIB right back when I'd just got my first Blythe, and we've been in contact almost everyday since. She knows how much my girls love rock-chick style, so she sent me these two amazing tops/dresses for my girls, as she no longer has a rock girl in her Blythe family.
She also sent us a cute little Kewpie, and stickers for the kids.

My Punkaholic People Blythe, Kiki :D I entered the lottery on Junie Moon, and pre-ordered through HLJ, and both fell through, but the wonderful Rebecca stepped in and sold me her spare one! (Thank you!!!)
She arrived on Tuesday, and there aren't many things which could drag me away from the new Dan Brown book (which I also got on Tuesday), but she certainly is one of them! I love her so much.
She and Satsuki are obviously sisters. Not identical, but there's enough of a resemblance.
Yesterday I spent the day customising her - nothing major, just boggled, gaze-corrected, 3 pairs of eye chips changed, and while her scalp was off I boil straightened her hair.
Her chips are now more similar to BWT (Satsuki)'s - I kept the stock green ones as they suit her, and changed the others to purple, turquoise and light grey.
Her fringe still needs a bit of attention (I'm rubbish at hair cutting!), but she's pretty much perfect :)

My little Satori is a Cinnamoroll Dal. Her name is Japanese for Enlightenment, and was inspired by John's bike turbo-trainer, which has the same name!

I cannot tell you how much I love this girl - and how guilty I feel towards my Blythes about that! But her fragility and little pouty face make you feel very protective towards her. Its also amazing how easy she is to photograph, and how expressive she is.

Did I say I love her ?!

Think she will be the first of a few Dals :)

Friendship Bracelets :)

So I had this idea ages ago (well a few months ago when I first started collecting/obsessing over Blythe) to make friendship bracelets for Blythes. Finally got the first 3 sets made this week.
They were uploaded to my Artfire store - SakuraBlythe and 2 sets (pink and blue) have sold already! Yay!
I'm going to try really hard not to spend the money I make from selling them (and the other things I've got planned to make ) until I have enough for a whole doll :) Wonder how long that will last!
Been really bad spending too much recently - I have my first Dal, Cinnamoroll in the post (funny as I really hated them til recently!), Punkaholic (that was a looonnnggg story! HLJ pre-order cancelled, didn't win one in the lottery, but my lovely friend Rebecca managed to get 2 and has sold one to me!!!! Yay! Not sure how long it'll be til she gets here though, as she hasn't been sent from Japan yet, and has to detour via Germany!), a Tiny Bazaar headband (had been stalking them for sooooo long!), oh and I have another new obsession - re-ment/megahouse gumball machines! They're so cute! I have a re-ment set on the way, and a megahouse complete set of Panda Candy Store sets :) Can't wait for the girls to play with them.
So tired now - all that bracelet making :D

Its been too long

Hana and Mei came with us on holiday and enjoyed visiting the beach (although Mei had a slight mishap when one of her eyechips fell out inside her head!). I think they enjoyed themselves like we did :)

Punkaholic People is released on Friday! Its been soooo long waiting. I've pre-ordered from HLJ and entered the Junie Moon lottery, so we'll see what happens.

In the mean time I have done the unbelievable - fallen for Dals. Its funny really, as until I recently I hated them, but Martha and Erica have both got Dal's recently, and they just crept up on me. The one I really want is Cinamoroll <3 So far I've been obsessed with her for 3 days. I won't be able to resist much longer. I even considered cancelling Punk to get her, shock horror.

Have to admit, I'd been neglecting Mei recently - she'd been standing at the back of my doll shelf, with her hair hanging over her beautiful face. I'd even considered selling her!!!!! So I decided I needed to do more with her. I dressed her in jeans and a t-shirt, and put her hair in a ponytail - straight away you could see her beautiful face, and I remembered why I love her so much. She was my first Neo Blythe, and she'll always have a special place in my life. I had some difficult moments the first few weeks she was here, and stroking her hair and playing with her kept me calm and helped me through.

The next day was a rare for at the moment dry day, so Ruth, Alex and I took Mei for a walk on the hills. We went to one of my favourite places, Earnslaw Quarry, and had fun taking lots photos. Cue me loving Mei even more.
I decided I just needed to spend more time doing stuff with her, and remembered how changing her 1st pairs of eye chips had really made us bond. I'd gone off those chips now anyway, so carefully chose some new ones for her. They arrived today, so a trip to the dolly spa was in order. I decided to try changing Sakura's side facing milky pink ones at the same time. I used the glue stick method, and for once both pairs came out on the first attempt. Very pleased :) Mei got some pretty and subtle lilac Brainworm chips, and Sakura got some gorgeous teal Brainworm ones which match her eye makeup.

One piece of bad news today though - Satsuki (my perfect wouldn't change a hair/eyechip on her head BWT) has chipped lipstick. So gutted. Better photos on Flickr. Trouble is that now I've noticed it, its all I can see when I look at her. But the terrible leg stains she had from some evil tights have completely disappeared with no treatment at all! Its taken a month, but she's gone from looking like the victim of some awful domestic violence incident to being almost pristine :)

I got some new lens attachments for my 50mm lens, hence the overload of macro photos - love this lens, and love macro photography, and now I an combine the 2!

On Thursday my wonderful and super-talented friend Kirsty came to visit and took me for a Trash the Dress photo shoot. We had so much fun - even though it pured with rain for 1/2 an hour and I got all muddy! For more photos of me, see her blog (click on her name above). She let me take Satsuki with me :)
The photos she took are so amazing ( as was the fact I could still fit in my dress over a year after my wedding LOL).
On Friday I changed Sakura's eyelashes. I love her new ones - they're exactly how I wanted them to be.
On Saturday we went to the Festival of History at Kelmarsh House in Northamptonshire. I took Sakura along for the adventure. There were some cool photo ops, and we got some funnny looks from the re-enactors :)

I love how she looks in the tee-shirt and (Bratz) jeans - so cool! I usually dress her in pretty dresses with her hair down, so it was great to see a bit more of her personality appearing. Love this girl :)

Such pretty eyes, calling to me not to sell her :( But I need the money, especially after the customs charge, and another massive financial issue which we discovered today.

Family Portraits and new customs

Sakura got new lipstick - this was soooo hard! Had to wipe it off and start again about 3 times, but am happy now. Tried to change a pair of her sidefacing eyechips, but got a glob of melted hot glue on my finger - ouch ouch ouch! It took most of the afternoon to change one pair of Hana's chips - she's EBL, so they're glued round the post. Got one out, and the other just wouldn't budge! Was about to put the other one back, when the second one finally came out. So she now has purple instead of orange ones. Tomorrow will be pink to turquoise eyechip changes.
Some more new clothes have arrived in the past few days, so we got a lovely family portrait of the girls in their pretty dresses. The first FP since Hana arrived. They look so cute together.

So, I saw on PP that Donna was selling a stock Disco Boogie. DB was on my list of dream girls. I had seen a few gorgeous ones on Flickr with hair cuts which made them look like me (even John said so). I talked to my Mum, and she and my Dad said they would buy her for me as a very early (like 6 months early!) birthday and Christmas present. And yesterday she arrived! This was her hair after a spa treatment :D
Beautiful, but just not me. So I decided to cut it myself. My sister had warned me that a graduated bob was a very difficult cut, but me being impatient decided to try it myself. Well that was one of the hardest and most stressful think I've ever done - I will NEVER be cutting Blythe hair again LOL. After hours and hours of cutting. drying, trying to straighten etc this was the result-
Yay, a mini-me! John said its funny how much she looks like me :)

We are going to my cousin's wedding on Saturday (I'm doing the reception photography), and may have to take her along.

I feel kinda guilty that she is my favourite when she only just arrived, but...... can't help it! I love the contemplative look of the EBL. Reminds me of me :)

Mei and Satski were a bit nervous about meeting the new girl - they had seen her photos, and knew she was a bit special. We were all stunned when she came out of the box - her hair is just beautiful. I think they were all a bit wary of each other until they all blinked, and realised they all had purple eyechips. They decided to be friends forever. I named the the Purple-Eye Gang (after Horrid Henry's Purple-Hand Gang!).
I think she'll be happy with us. We named her Sakura as she has cherry-blossom coloured hair.

Pilchard got jealous of all the attention the girls were getting, and jumped up on the bench to get in the photo!

First trip

On Thursday, the long awaited parcel arrived! And I jumped around the house like a crazy person shouting 'she came she came she came' with the cat giving me That Look he has of telling you he thinks you're totally insane :) Mei thought it might be a present for her (she's been getting a lot of them recently). And in a way it was - a sister for her!
This is Mei and Satski meeting for the first time. I had 2 assignments to finish and hand in for Friday, so was really good, and didn't get her out of the box until I got back from handing them in.

Once she was out and had her hair washed, the fun really began. The weather was beautiful today, and we needed to let off some steam after a long-running thing with utility suppliers (aka the b******s) came to a head, so we went for a walk on the Malvern Hills.

Satski and Mei got some beautiful hats in the post today from Sandy Byrne, so she just had to show her's off (and it saved her hair from the wind). We stopped for a few photo ops on the way up and down. This is Satski wondering if she can do a bit of prospectin'.

New dress

From Ladybird House - the quality is fantastic, and its such a pretty dress. It's Mei's favourite, but I've told her its for special occasions - luckily its John and my first wedding anniversary tomorrow, so I think that counts!
Ruth loves Mei. She's a bit obsessed too I think ;) Today she put on her dress which is most like Mei's stock dress, got me to do her hair like I'd done Mei's and so I just had to take these photos. Their hair is exactly the same colour at the moment - in these photos you can hardly tell where Mei's hair stops and Ruth's starts. They look like twins (but Ruth is a little bit bigger LOL).

The first out of the box photo - Mei is such a pretty girl - so easy to fall in love with. She had a bit of a case of 'box hair' so I had to wash her hair - so scary! Was paranoid about getting water inside her head, so she was very well wrapped up - masking tape, towel etc. We took this photo as she looked so funny soaking in the fabric conditioner!

When I first un-boxed her Pilchard was rubbing his head against her - something he only does with people he likes. But when I was taking photos of her in the garden, they weren't at all sure of each other - probably a good thing as he has a nasty habit of chewing toys - especially limbs of dolls.
Mei loves flowers, and picked this Viola for me. So pretty!
Of course I had to put it in her hair as I think it brings out the colour of her eye(chip)s! Speaking of which, I have lavender and turquoise eye chips to swap for the pink and orange ones at some point when I'm feeling brave.
These are some of the new clothes I ordered, which arrived the same day Mei did. Photos aren't great as I was in a hurry in the middle of making tea. T-shirt and hoody from Blythestation (Etsy), Converse and skirt from Miss Blythe. Took me ages to work out how to get the hoody on - it goes on upwards like a dress! She has a bit too much hair for it really, but this outfit is really intended for her sister Haru (the BWT I haven't even ordered yet, but already have a name for!).

My new obsession - Blythe. -sigh- I'm kinda in love :)

And my 2 petites and my neo all arrived together today! So happy :) I had gone to the post office to pick up the parcels I'd missed yesterday, and the postman said 'I think we have a Special Delivery for you, disappeared for a few minute, and came back with another 2 parcels, one of which I could tell from the sender was the one I was most looking forward to, and wasn't expecting for a few more days.
This is Yuki, named after the white cat in the Studio Ghibli film The Cat Returns. Her name means snow and also happiness and good fortune. She is a Takara Petite Blythe Sewing My Way. Just love the teeny dress from and pin cushion.

This is Sakura. She is a Petite Blythe Carousel Lucy. Love her hair. She is so Japanese looking, just had to give her the most Japanese name we know. It means Cherry Blossom :)
Ans this..... I LOVE this doll so much. Never thought I'd be able to afford a Neo Blythe, but after much research (and I mean HOURS. And hours. And then some more. In fact I've not done much else for weeks!), I chose Primadolly Winsome Willow (thanks Martha for the advice :) ).
She came from a lovely Ebay seller in Hong Kong in her original Takara shipper - another thing that made me smile.
She is beautiful. We have named her Mei after the character in My Neighbour Totoro. It is Japanese for 'dance' and Vietnamese for 'golden flower.' Perfect for her. And also she came in May! Her hair is the same colour as mine and Ruth's.

I also had a package from Miss Blythe, with new eyechips for Mei, some clothes and the cutest re-ment cat. And as I've been typing, I've had ANOTHER parcel arrive with a cute t-shirt and hoody from Blythestation. I am so happy today :) :) :)

Haven't taken any of my girls out of their boxes yet - kind of scared too! Sure that won't last long.
